Welcome to the Jotunheimen mountain experience. We will guide you on fairytale glacier walks, exciting treks to the peaks of Norway`s tallest mountains, or just a slow leisurely ramble along a quiet stream. We can offer a unique experience in our beautiful and untamed mountain world. Ramblers and mountain climbers have visited us since the 1880`s.

We have extensive knowledge of the possibilities and opportunities available to the discerning traveller in this, the most beautiful and wild of Norway's national parks.

Relaxed og challenging
We can offer a complete package including accommodation, meals, guiding and the renting of all necessary equipment. Information gathering and planning is up to you. A large variety of summit hikes are available in Jotunheimen. Actual climbing for those who are looking for a more challenging hike, as well as more relaxed hikes suitable for the entire family.

Daily guided tours to Galdhøpiggen - Norway's tallest mountain peak
In the summer season we offer daily guided tours for the entire family from Juvasshytta mountain lodge. Galdhøpiggen is the perfect location for spring skiing. We start off the season with a guided family tour to the roof of Norway, in order to celebrate 17th of May, our national holiday.

Spring and summer skiing
The whole area surrounding the mountain lodges of Leirvassbu, Krossbu and Juvasshytta is perfect for spring skiing. You can end winter with a lovely trip in the Fanaråken area, the Smørstabbreen glacier, Galdhøpiggen, Leirdalen and Visdalen. At Krossbu you will discover great opportunities for Cross Country skiing in well prepared tracks in the period of July and August.


Galdhøpiggen summer ski centre offers a top modern ski resort with an advanced snowboard and alpine ski park, a large cafeteria, as well as ski and equipment rental. Season from the beginning of May until the end of October. The spring offers great opportunities for off pist skiing. Our 2000m peaks and experienced mountain guides can offer you an adventure tailor-made for your level of skill and experience.          

Glacier walks
Possibly the most exciting experience, is the exploration of our blue ice glaciers. In the summer season we have daily guided tours on the Smørstabbreen glacier from Krossbu and Leirvassbu.

Caving in Dumdalen   
The lime stone stone caves in Dumdalen must be explored. Krossbu will facilitate an experience for the entire family.

               From lodge to lodge                    
Leirvassbu, Juvasshytta and Krossbu are base camps for all types of hikes or skiing trips in Jotunheimen. You can reach a number of 2000m peaks. Our mountain lodges are ideally located regarding the routes listed by the Norwegian Trekking Association.

Easter in Jotunheimen is a must. Experience the friendly atmosphere and the extensive skiing track networks. Transport to and from Leirvassbu and Krossbu can be arranged by appointment.
