We can tailor-make special
packages for families, companies, clubs, associations and other groups. The social aspect
will be combined with activities and cultural experiences. This includes accommodation,
meals, activities and transport. Every lodge and hotel has its own distinctive style and
atmosphere. We offer short travelled food based on local ingredients.
In the lush and beautiful Visdalen valley,
you can study the distinctive flora. Join us on a big game safari looking for elk and
deer, and enjoy a coffee at the Sulheimsætre lodge. At the lodge you will find a marked
trail up to Juvasshytta, or you hike to the summit of Glittertind. You can also reach
Leirvassbu through the Visdalen valley.
We also have our own hunting preserve in
the area towards Lomseggen. Hunt with our local guides and chances are good you will
encounter the Norwegian grouse.
Hikes off the beaten track
If you have the time or inclination, we can show you some of our hidden and almost
forgotten treasures of nature. The hike across the glaciers from Juvasshytta to Krossbu is
a demanding but ancient winter classic. The hike can also be experienced in the summer
season.
We cross eight glaciers before arriving at
Leirvassbu. After a good nights sleep and good food, we cross the Smørstabbreen glacier
and enjoy a summit hike to Storebjørn before spending the night at Krossbu. The next day
you will experience a hike on the blue ice glacier at Bøverbreen.
At Elveseter Hotel or Sulheim you can
enjoy a delicious dinner as well as a cultural experience beyond the pale. In the evening
you can take a summit hike to Galdhøpiggen and watch the sunrise. Breakfast in the yard
of a sixteenth century manor farm completes the trip. In case of inclement weather we can
go caving in Dumdalen. The next day we can go to Leirvassbu, where a glacier walk on
Smørstabbreen, combined with a summit hike to Storebjørn can represent the next
challenge. The next day we can go to Leirvassbu, where a glacier walk on Smørstabbreen,

Galdhøpiggen
The first cabin on the summit of Galhøpiggen was built in 1889 by Knud O. Vole. Today a
modern cabin occupies the same site. The Vole family still runs the Juvasshytta mountain
lodge as well as the Galdhøpiggen summit cabin. For the traveller who enjoys the calm
sunset as well as the glorious sunrise, we are happy to provide hikes outside of the
regular schedule.
By car
Route 55 across the Sognefjell Mountains is the best and most spectacular route in Norway.
Leirdalen valley is surrounded by majestic 2000m peaks. Arriving at Leirvassbu you are in
the middle of Jotunheimen. The road up to Jusvasshytta (1840m above sea level) is Northern
Europe?s highest mountain road.
